Tamaq. Marketplace for homemade food
Background
From January to May 2025, as a student at KIMEP University, I took a course on Entrepreneurship. The main assignment was to create a startup project, develop a business plan, build a financial model, and prepare a pitch deck. My idea was an online marketplace for homemade food, similar to Shef (US) and Homemade (Europe). Besides profitability, there was a huge two-fold social impact. At one side, thousands of people could sell homemade meals, supporting their families. At the other side, thousands of people could buy freash, high-quality meals for a relatively low price. With the right go-to-market approach, such a marketplace could disrupt the entire food service industry.
Outcome
The project won first place at the university’s internal pitch competition. It proved that the idea was strong and the presentation was convincing. I tried to contact large local IT companies (such as Freedom and Yandex) to offer this project as an internal startup. But there was no feedback. Since I strongly believe in the power of “win-win”, I decided to open source the project files so anyone could use them for educational or personal or business purposes.
